About the Artist/Conservator

Maria Sheets has been a painter for almost three decades and a professional art conservator for over 20 years.    As a conservator, Ms. Sheets is  currently experimenting with the use of  new materials  and techniques used in conservation science. When these new technologies and materials are applied to the creation of paintings,  they prove to produce works that are far superior in structure to those made with traditional techniques.  Her content ranges from  still life and portrait study to historic and liturgical narrative.  

Maria Sheets is a senior conservator in the Dallas, Texas area serving galleries, private, corporate, and museum collections.  

Specialties include the treatment  and preservation of porcelain, wood, bone, ivory, plastic, book and paper, paintings, glass, stained glass, wax, modern media, and emergency disaster recovery services and training.
